Community Eating Disorder Service – NHS Mersey Internal Audit Agency (MIAA)

Community Eating Disorder Service – NHS Mersey Internal Audit Agency (MIAA)

Background

NOE CPC was approached by the NHS MIAA (Mersey Internal Audit Agency) who was looking for a partner to work with them, and four co-commissioning CCGs across mid-Mersey, to manage the procurement for a new Community Eating Disorder service for 8-18 year olds.

The provision across the geography was to offer an innovative solution for this age group, addressing their particular needs, making use of new technologies and providing a holistic service which would be easy to access via self or primary care referral and provide a consistent, reliable presence whether they are in the community or being treated as a hospital in-patient.

NOE CPC solution

Upon reviewing the specification, NOE CPC took the lead on drafting the tender documents including the questions to be asked of the bidders to really focus on the new model of delivery and the importance of ease of access and building relationships both with the service user and along the entire pathway.

We managed a bidder event for the procurement, facilitated the moderation event involving commissioners, subject matter experts and the parents of previous service users and worked closely with both the MIAA as our client and the
co-commissioners, ensuring that the service was commissioned on time and within budget.

Outcome

The service is already receiving service users and making a positive impact on their lives and outcomes, a result NOE CPC is proud to have been involved in.

Testimonial

I am writing to say a big thank you to NOE CPC for its support and advice throughout the procurement process for the Mid-Mersey Community Eating Disorder Service for 8-18 year olds.

Michelle has guided our Steering Group (made up of representatives from 4 CCGs) through some difficult situations and discussions, keeping everyone to process and providing invaluable advice and experience.

Everyone involved has enjoyed working with Michelle. Members of the Steering Group have expressed their view that each CCG would use Michelle and NOE CPC again for further procurement work and personally, I would welcome the opportunity to work with you again.
