Get to know me: A 3-minute profile with Anna Falzarano
Welcome to the latest in our Get to Know Me series, sharing a snapshot of new NHS Supply Chain team members and what made them decide to share their knowledge and skills with the Facilities and Office Solutions team.
Now let's get to know Anna Falzarano.
What is your role within Supply Chain?
My job title is Procurement Support Officer, and I am responsible for overseeing the Disposable Cubicle, Shower, and Window Curtains framework. Prior to joining the Facilities and Office Solutions team, I worked as an export manager for an Italian lighting company in Naples. I then transitioned to working as an IT Procurement Specialist at Chesterfield Royal Hospital Foundation Trust. This diverse background has equipped me with valuable experience in procurement within both private and public sectors, which helps me gain a better understanding of the challenges my work faces from various perspectives. One of my proudest achievements so far has been working in a dynamic team as the IT Lead Procurement Specialist to deliver the new Emergency Department at CRH, opened by HRH The Princess Royal last July.
What does your job involve?
I am responsible for managing the operational aspects of the catalogue for disposable curtains. My role involves ensuring smooth collaboration with our network of suppliers to procure and provide optimal and user-friendly products. I work closely with both suppliers and customers to ensure adherence to policies and governance, and to attain the provision of high-quality products.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
One thing I absolutely love about my job is the chance to make a real difference in our NHS and communities. It's incredibly rewarding to know that I can have a positive impact on the lives of others. As a matter of fact, I decided to pursue a career in public procurement during the pandemic. Witnessing the unwavering dedication and compassion of the incredible individuals who continued to selflessly provide uninterrupted healthcare and support amidst the adversities of the pandemic truly inspired me. It's an honour to be a part of this amazing reality and contribute to the continued well-being of our communities. I'm also extremely grateful for the opportunity to connect with and learn from so many incredible individuals who are experts in their field. Building relationships with suppliers and customers in their work settings helps us understand each other better, and I find it truly valuable. I absolutely love the feeling of learning something new and fascinating every single day!
