Get to know me: A 3-minute profile with James Firth

Welcome to the latest instalment of our Get to Know Me Series, where you can get closer to the people who make up our NHS Supply Chain: Facilities and Office Solution team. This month, we're introducing James Firth, our new Category Procurement Specialist.

1. What is your role within Supply Chain?

My job title is Category Procurement Specialist and I am responsible for the Office and Outdoor Furniture framework as well as the technology lot on the office framework.

2. What does your job involve?

My role requires working closely with customers and suppliers to find the most suitable products that match their requirements that can be purchased compliantly via the framework. I will be completing a sourcing strategy to deliver a new furniture framework in 2025 with a focus on sustainability and social value.


3. What do you enjoy most about your role?

I have enjoyed meeting the team who have been extremely welcoming and are extremely knowledgeable. I am looking forward to working on large projects with customers to ensure their requirements are met while delivering cost savings. I am also looking forward to visiting suppliers to see how their products are made and to learn more about the products we have on the framework.
