Get to know me: A 3-minute profile with Lucy Fox
Welcome to the latest in our Get to Know Me series, sharing a snapshot of new NHS Supply Chain team members and what made them decide to share their knowledge and skills with the Facilities and Office Solutions team.
Now let's get to know Lucy Fox.
1. What is your role within Supply Chain?
My role within NOE CPC is Customer Support and Assistant Buyer within the Medical Healthcare Furniture framework. I previously worked in wholesale sales and wanted a big career change to something I could really get stuck into and progress in, so when I saw this job come along, it really ticked all the boxes of what I was looking for. It still contains the relationship building aspect of my previous role, which is something I really enjoy and the day to day tasks are very varied and different, there is always something new to learn.
2. What does your job involve?
I’m part of a small team that look after the Facilities and Office Solutions helpdesk, so a part of my role includes handling issues from trusts. The other part of my job is assisting with the Medical Healthcare Furniture framework, this includes a wide range of tasks which vary from day to day, from updating the product database to meeting with suppliers and learning about their products and how they are made. I’m very keen to keep learning and undertaking more training to absorb as much knowledge as I can about the vast world of NHS public procurement.
3. What do you enjoy most about your role?
I am enjoying how challenging learning the role is in a completely new industry, there’s so much information (and many acronyms) to take in and remember, I’m excited to continue learning and gaining experience and I hope to grow a career in public procurement within the NHS Supply Chain. I have also joined such a lovely, friendly, and helpful team who have made me feel very welcome.
