#IntegrationMatters blog: How we have integrated Atamis into our workplace to streamline our process

NOE CPC was an early adopter of the Health Family eCommercial System (Atamis) and we have worked over the last three years to integrate it into our everyday working practices.

Atamis is a commercial system that enables organisations to manage their commercial pipeline, associated value and savings, tenders, contracts and suppliers. The system is available to all NHS organisations.

Before the adoption of Atamis, many organisations relied on different systems to bring together health commercial information. It has replaced many different local systems and practices, bringing greater efficiency not just to NOE CPC but the NHS and wider health family.

Across the NHS the system now has:

  • More than £121bn worth of active contracts
  • More than 10,000 buyers and contract managers
  • More than 50,000 bidders

As well as adopting the system ourselves, we have worked closely with NHS England and the Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) to implement Atamis in health organisations across the country.

We lead the North of England Atamis Health Family Forum. This supports members to onboard and supports and facilitates discussions around best practice, useful guidance and promotes process improvement.

Our Members can sign up for the next Health Family Forum, which will take place online via Microsoft Teams on 26th June, 2pm-3.30pm.

In November, NOE CPC and other organisations involved in the Atamis roll-out were recognised with the Collaboration and Partnership Award at the Government Commercial Function (GCF) Awards.

Steve Sercombe, Procurement Director, said: “It is a really positive development to see NHS procurement teams across the country move to a common consolidated system covering a wide range of their e-procurement needs, from workplan and e-tendering through to contract management.”
